Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: August 2026

Pet Decoded is a reader-supported site. This page explains, in plain language, how that works and what it does (and doesn’t) mean for the recommendations we publish.

What “affiliate” means here

When you click certain links on this site and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may earn a commission from the retailer or provider. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the company.

Who we currently work with

Amazon Associates

We’re a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, earning commissions on qualifying purchases made through Amazon links on this site.

Pet insurance providers

Links to Lemonade, Spot, and Healthy Paws may become affiliate-tracked links as those partnerships are finalized.

This list will grow as we add new partnerships (Chewy and others are in progress), and we’ll keep this page current as that happens.

Our promise

We don’t rank products or providers by commission rate, and we won’t recommend something just because it pays more. If the free or cheapest option is genuinely the best fit for a given situation, that’s what we’ll tell you — our budget dog food pick is a real example of that in practice.

Editorial independence

Every product, provider, or plan we recommend is chosen based on our own research and editorial judgment first. Affiliate relationships determine how we’re compensated when you choose to buy through our links — they don’t determine what we recommend in the first place.

Questions

If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships or how a specific recommendation was made, reach out at hi@petdecoded.com or through our Contact page.
